Teledermatology

Teledermatology is a modern practice in the field of dermatology that focuses on the exchange and delivery of medical reports about dermatological conditions using of audio, visual, and data communication, including photos of dermatologic conditions. Communication between dermatologists and patients occurs exclusively through telecommunication technology.

The pandemic has further increased the use of telecommunication technologies for online consultations. Some widely used apps include Practo, Apollo Pharmacy, Skin Beauty Pal, and Lybrate. These apps enhance patient care by reducing wait times and allowing consultations anytime from the comfort of home.
